Yes, I Am Going To Heaven

“If you die today, do you believe you will go to heaven?” My friend asked me.  I replied confidently, “Yes, I believe I am going to heaven if I die today.” My friend is a very loving Biblical man who lives his life by the scriptures.  To show his love and support for our friendship, he had to ask this question. Most importantly, to ensure that I go to heaven too.

He reminded me of our human sins and proclaimed that Jesus will take me to heaven if I allow him to take away my sins.  My Biblical friend and I both follow the teachings of Jesus but our our notion about sin come from different realities.

The word Sin in the original Latin context means guilt.  We go about our lives carrying all the guilt from our past actions.  We carry this guilt with us until the day we die. Perhaps, the heaviness of our guilt may hinder the immediate experience of heaven when we leave the physical world.

I believe the teachings from Jesus in the Bible speaks about self-forgiveness, self-love and surrendering the guilt we create ourselves.  His teachings saves us by helping us remember who we are at the core of our being. Allowing ourselves to experience the profound level of our existence, our Soul, we are in the process of saving ourselves.

The messages and insights about self-love is reference in how we are attached to our guilt.  When the human mind is consumed with guilt, the guilt can sicken the human mind. When the human mind becomes ill because of guilt, heaven is unreachable.  It is only when you can learn how to forgive yourself, detach yourself from your own burden when your life can be a heavenly experience.

I was not lying to my friend when I gave him my answer to his question.  I may not be 100% free of guilt when I die, however, I have this powerful belief that where I move on from my physical experience will be completely divine.
